Introduction to the Student route - FULLY BOOKED

We invite you to join Ros Martin and a member of UKCISA’s Advice and Training team in a 2.5 hour participative online session.

This session is aimed at staff new to the Student route who would like a general overview of the route and requirements. It may also serve as a refresher course for those familiar with the route and the Tier 4 predecessor.

This webinar will help you to:

  • identify key sources of information which outline the Student immigration route
  • understand your main duties as a sponsor, including compliance duties whilst sponsoring international students
  • identify the main requirements of the Student route
  • understand the requirements necessary to issue a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS)
  • identify relevant support networks and good practice as a sponsor
  • be aware of OISC compliance.

This course can be taken as a stand-alone course or in conjunction with some of the detailed courses to follow, which will expand on the requirements such as our up-and-coming academic progression, financial requirements and time limits courses.

To support this course we will be introducing the use of Padlet for delegates to access and use. Padlet is an online collaboration tool, much like an online notice board, where tutors and delegates can post text, video files, images etc.

Tutors will use this space to share slides that support our online training, provide a networking space for delegates who attend the training and to follow-up on any questions that tutors take away during the training.

We look forward to using this as an additional way to engage with our attendees, and we encourage you to use this to connect with other UKCISA members. Further information on how to use Padlet will be provided alongside the joining instructions to this training.
