Recordings now available for the two Student Fringe sessions at UKCISA Conference 2021 aimed at international students covering the Graduate Route and career success.
International students graduating this year will find the sessions particularly useful and we’d appreciate your support in sharing these videos with your international students, particularly the cultural student societies/groups, as well as with the international student officers, representatives and ambassadors.
Session 1: Graduate Route, and other post-study work opportunities in the UK
From 1st July 2021, eligible international graduates in the UK can apply for the Graduate Route visa. This is a new visa designed to allow 2021 graduates to stay and work in the UK, initially for 2 years (3 years for PhD students). This session breaks down: how the Graduate Route works; who is eligible; and what new work opportunities it will open for you. We will also summarise the separate options for 2021 graduates who want to switch straight to a visa for sponsored skilled work or endorsed entrepreneurial activities.
Session2: UK Study Experience to Career Success: what do you need to do?
What are your goals for after you graduate? Careers Consultant Sarah Cooper will help you reflect on your career aspirations and what you can do to stand out to employers in the UK and around the world. She will advise on the key employability activities you need to take at each stage of your time in the UK, where to find both advertised and "hidden jobs" and how to make best use of your institution’s Careers Service.
