Version 5 of ‘Who pays ‘home’ fees for HE in England?’

24 October 2021

UKCISA’s pdf guide, ‘Who pays ‘home’ fees for higher education in England?’ has been updated with some very minor changes:

1. In the definition of a ‘person with protected rights’, reference is now made to the fact that someone whose marriage or civil partnership begins between 11pm on 31 December 2020 and 11pm on 31 December 2025 can be the ‘joining family member’ of a Swiss national.

2. To help the reader, where ‘persons with protected rights’ are mentioned, there is now a reminder that this includes people who have pre-settled status or settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme, amongst others (for the full list, see page 9 of the pdf guide - it includes other groups too).

Downloading the pdf guide

Please only use Version 5 of the pdf guide from now on. It is dated 24 October 2021.

Students can download Version 5 of the pdf guide (‘Who pays ‘home’ fees for higher education in England?’) from the UKCISA website.  UKCISA members will probably prefer to use the member copy of Version 5 - it can be downloaded by UKCISA members from section 2.5 of the fees section of the UKCISA online manual (look in the Resources box at the bottom of the page).  It includes useful additional footnotes.

As explained at the beginning of the pdf, it is a ‘living’ document and readers should expect to see it develop over time. Please always use only the most recent version.
