Considering common difficulties and absences under the EU Settlement Scheme - FULLY BOOKED

This course aims to consider common difficulties, particularly the impact of absences, arising under the EU Settlement Scheme and how to advise students in relation to them.

Objectives:

  • Know what ‘continuous qualifying period’ is under the EU Settlement Scheme, when it applies and how to determine it (including the impact of absences)
  • Identify and consider how to deal with difficulties that might arise in meeting the requirements under the EU settlement scheme including:
    • absences that are longer than those permitted
    • losing eligibility for settled status
    • Consider the options for those who have not been successful in making an application under the EU Settlement Scheme
  • Consider the options for those who have not been successful in making an application under the EU Settlement Scheme
