Introduction to the Student route

Tema is an Advice & Training Officer. The Advice & Training team specialise in student-related immigration law, fee status and student support legislation, as well as other areas affecting international students such as welfare, hardship, and studying and living in the UK. They provide OISC-compliant advice to members and international students and deliver informative, engaging training to members. Their analysis of UK legislation enables UKCISA to identify issues in law and government materials for lobbying or clarification.

Ros has worked in the higher education sector for more than 25 years, specifically with international students and the Student route (previously known as Tier 4) since its introduction in 2009. During this time, she has worked in a variety of roles, including recruitment, admissions, student support and compliance within several UK universities as well as working as an Advice & Training Officer at UKCISA and at Penningtons LLP. Since 2015, Ros has advised a number of universities and colleges on international student matters in her role as a Higher Education Consultant.
