The period has been a turbulent time for UK politics and policy, with notable shifts in student demographics, global challenges, and changing overseas perceptions of the UK. The report addresses challenges and suggests how to capitalise on strengths, allowing readers to dip in and out as needed with major points of a report to suit your requirements supporting students through these uncertain times.
Despite a significant lack of data in the sector, the Annual policy review filters what data we do have to report specifically on international students, both from universities and colleges. It shows trends over time and suggests future areas to focus on, recognising the hard work the sector has done to fill data gaps as best they can.
There’s also been talk of financial insecurity and a reliance on international students. Findings from various reports illustrate the future of the sector if budgets and income sources do not change, as well as celebrating the contributions international students bring to the institution, the local community, and the wider economy.
The insights highlighted in the report serve as a valuable resource for stakeholders in the education sector, offering actionable insights and recommendations to navigate the evolving landscape of international student mobility and enhancing the overall student experience in the UK. Using such insights will allow our sector to form strategic interventions to support students and contribute to the overall success and sustainability of the UK’s higher education sector.
